Roles and Responsibilities
The Production Department is looking for future craftsmen to play a key role in HOSOO TEXTILES. Utilizing traditional Nishijin-ori techniques with innovative technologies and advanced design, you will weave HOSOO TEXTILES for the Japanese and international luxury markets.
This position is potentially for you, if you have respect for traditional culture and crafts, a love for making things, and have an interest in the production process of not only textiles, but also in various areas such as design, interiors, art, and architecture. We welcome those who resonate with our motto of “More than Textile”, those who are forward thinking and pro-active in taking on the challenges with creating new forms of beauty from a broad perspective.
HOSOO creations could not happen without the cooperation with professionals such as master craftsmen, project managers, and creators from various fields both in and outside the company. We are looking for people are interested in working with people who will help your professional development while relishing the production process, value cooperation, and have a life-long learning view on towards mastery.
We are particularly interested in those who have basic to specialized knowledge in fields such as engineering to work with our customized looms and those who have experience in design and textiles backgrounds. Experience in weaving is not necessary.
General Employment Status

- Full-time employee (initial 3-month probation period)

- House of HOSOO or Tanba Workshop
- Working hours
- 9am to 5:30pm (7.5 hours)
- Salary
- based on experience, abilities, annual income of previous employer, and determined on completion of all interviews.
- Compensation
- basic monthly salary plus annual bonus (received twice a year)
- Salary review
- July of each year
- Holidays & Annual Leave
- Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, (126 days off in 2021), paid leave, summer / end-of-year & new year holidays, and leave for special occasions.
- Other
- Travel allowance fully covered, enrollment in social insurance and pension system.
During busy times of the year, you may be asked to work on holidays.

Selection Process
